Specifications for the S7 medium sized solar water heating system
Medium size system - hot tap water and pool heating
HelioPower will provide:
One complete 25 kW solar energy system model S7M for a slate roof 1. (pre-heating of potable water (for supply to the std. geyser) and 2. swimming pool heating), which consist of the following basic elements:
HP pump/control setup integrating into one wall mounted unit:
- Control electronics HP/ZA01, motor controller FC750, various sensors, etc.
- One industrial stainless steel two-stage circulation pump operating at variable speed for the solar circuit
- One stainless steel heat exchanger (type GEA material AISI316, Ni brazed) size 10 kW connected to energy storage for hot tap water preheating
- One stainless steel heat exchanger (type GEA material AISI316, Ni brazed) size 30 kW for the swimming pool heating to be mounted close to the pool connected with 2 x 25 mm PEX tube connection to the HP pump/control unit
- If needed one standard Speck pool circulation pump with build-in 500 ym screen to be mounted closed to the pool in the pool heat exchanger circuit
- Installation of a 45 m2 area (plus/minus 3 m2) invisible solar panel (including supply of bonding compound to be used by the roofing company)
- Hot water storage with control system
- One Pt-1000 sensor roof mounted
- Insulation of hot piping supplied by HelioPower

Customer/Client must provide:
- 230 VAC 16 amp power point (phase, neutral, ground) less than one meter from pump/control setup location
- 1 m2 wall space to HP pump/control setup in garage or similar
- North facing roof section with relevant size according to the system size with std. slate roofing battens (35x35 mm) spaced 153 mm (plus 3 minus 0 mm) and capable of the extra load of 19 kilo/m2
- Water proofing vapour diffuser membranes mounted between the rafter and the battens
- Access from pump/control setup to roof with solar panels for 4 pcs insulated tubings
- Space available in the pool service room for the solar heating heat exchanger and pump
Performance in general:
- System performance is vastly depending on the insulation of all tubing and the pool
- The pool water outlet for the solar circuit connection must be at minimum half way to the pool bottom
- One year service interwalls will keep the system in good order and max performance
- Pool cover will reduce the heat losses and pool water evaporation significantly
- The geyser temp control device must be set at 65C for hygienic operation and elimination of the legionella decease
HelioPower will NOT provide:
- Geyser(s) and their mounting or connections
- Insulation of pool or the pool tubings
- Slates or mounting of the slates
Plumber company must provide:
- Connection with non copper tubing from cold/city tap water inlet to HP pump/control setup
- Connections from HP pump/control setup to geyser(s) with non copper tubing fully insulated throughout the building
- All tubes insulated before potentially cast into walls and floor throughout the building
Pool company must provide:
- One 50 mm PVC outlet after main filter and before the pool inlet for connection to the pool solar heater unit
- One extra 50 mm insulated PVC tubing from solar heater unit to pool inlet
Roofing company must provide:
- Slates - to be glued on with glue provided by HelioPower
- Cladding of the roof without nails - slates only glued onto the solar panels
- Limited use of bitumen felt - the edges around the solar panel
HelioPower will further provide:
- Cleaning of site re: HelioPower work
- Three month of free service and calibration of system
- Optionally a service contract for a once per year maintenance visit
- 15 year warranty on panels when the solar circuit is filled with 30% glycol and the glycol is replaced each 5 year by HelioPower or a certified contractor
